Elisa's Summer Watch List 2019

It's a few weeks into summer and I'm already binge watching too many things. There are so many choices, maybe too many choices. And maybe summertime isn't the most obvious time of year in certain parts of the world, to really hide out and watch hours and hours of awesome streamable entertainment but it's definitely my favourite time to do so. Here are just some of the things I've watched, am watching or will be watching this summer!

Finished and Recommending
Trinkets (Netflix) - Literally just finished bingeing this as I type. Wow. I totally connected with the three lead characters (Moe is the best, though). Plus, it's set in Portland (my hometown!). The soundtrack is also on point. SHOUT OUT TO THE AMAZING Kat Cunning AKA Sabine; Listen to 'King of Shadow' NOW.

Chasing Happiness (Amazon Prime Video) - I enjoyed the Jonas Brothers' music back when they were hot but I don't think I ever realised just how popular they were. This documentary was so much deeper than I thought it would be and although I think they only touched on a lot that happened throughout the first part of their careers, it gives some really great insight into what it was like being the worlds most popular family band.

Jessica Jones, Season 3 (Netflix) - I wanted to hold off on watching as much as I could because I don't want to admit that it's really over. Alas, I couldn't help myself. What a wild ride this last season is. I really don't want this to be the end for Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones. Jessica Jones will forever be my favourite.

Turn Up Charlie (Netflix) - Idris Elba and Piper Perabo. Seriously. I watched it for them. It's a fun show though nothing life changing; I definitely want to head to Ibiza now though. Maybe the series is slightly predictable, but it definitely left me wanting more. Season two, pls?

Currently Watching
Younger, Season 6 (TV Land- I LOVE this show; all the characters, the drama, even the inaccurate lit stuff, I can't get enough! The first episode of the sixth season premiered last week and I'm already sucked in! No spoilers but I can't wait for all the twists and turns. That being said, I'm unapologetically Team Charles. Also, any show that manages to naturally bring in a '9 to 5' performance has my heart.

Vida (STARZ) - I'm actually pretty disappointed in myself with how long it took me to start this series. Admittedly, I haven't had Starz since Black Sails ended but Vida is worth having it again. Love love love this look at the Latinx experience.

Billions, Season 4 (Showtime) - Another subscription I had to give up halfway through the season! But I've got it back and I'm on the last few of episodes of this season and BOY, I can't believe I missed out! If you've never watched any of this series, get on it!

Good Omens (Amazon Prime Video) - Even if it didn't have an amazing book behind it, the series stars Michael Sheen and David Tennant. Pure gold.

The Order (Netflix) - Another magical teen show.  Maybe it's a bit cliche, but I really like it so far.

In My Queue

Gentleman Jack (HBO) - There has not been one person watching this that hasn't said they're really into it. So, it's now on my list.

Years and Years (HBO) - Premieres June 24th. I watched the first episode of this series and was BLOWN AWAY. A powerful look at where the world could be headed through the eyes of a family in Manchester.

Veronica Mars (Hulu) - July 1st, seasons 1-3 drop on Hulu, July 26th, an all new season 4 is out on Hulu! Can't wait to rewatch the whole series and then all new episodes! What a time to be alive!
